Akshaye Khanna was last seen in the movie The accidental Prime Minister, and now the actor is gearing up to mark his digital debut in the upcoming web series ‘The Prince’.
Akshaye is in talking terms with ALTBalaji to play the lead in the series, which will be based on the life of late Sanjay Gandhi. Ekta Kapoor is coming up with a biographical series which will narrate the story of a young political successor, with an anti-hero slant. The plot will include his controversial initiatives like the sterilisation programme. However, it is not yet confirmed that the Emergency period will be the focal point or not in the series.
A research team is already working on the political heir, who was seen as the right-hand man of mother and then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The final draft will be ready by August and the project is expected to roll by January 2020.
