Ajay Devgn is set to venture into the jungle adventure genre with his upcoming film Ranger, directed by Mission Mangal filmmaker Jagan Shakti. First announced in 2024, the film is being touted as a high-stakes action-adventure packed with thrilling visuals and an immersive storyline. Now, as per a report by Pinkvilla, Tamannaah Bhatia has joined the cast as the female lead.
A source close to the production revealed that Tamannaah is excited about her role, which features a compelling redemption arc. “She has committed bulk dates for Ranger and has already begun prepping for the film. Multiple script reading sessions with Jagan Shakti have taken place to ensure she’s well-prepared for the character,” the source shared.
With Ranger expected to be a large-scale cinematic spectacle, Ajay Devgn is reportedly enthusiastic about exploring this uncharted territory in Bollywood. “The film will introduce audiences to fresh, visually stunning adventure elements in Hindi cinema. Ajay has always been intrigued by cutting-edge filmmaking technology, and this project offers the perfect opportunity to bring something unique to the big screen,” the insider added.
Backed by Luv Films, Ranger will also see Sanjay Dutt in a pivotal role, reportedly as the antagonist. With Ajay likely portraying a forest officer, fans are eager to witness an intense showdown between the two veteran actors.
Pre-production for the film is in full swing, and shooting is set to begin by the end of March. While official announcements are still awaited, Ranger has already created a buzz with its intriguing premise, stellar cast, and promise of groundbreaking visuals.
