Ajay Devgn is set to reprise his role as IRS officer Amay Patnaik in the highly anticipated sequel, Raid 2, following the immense success of the 2018 film Raid. Director Rajkumar Gupta and producers Bhushan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak, and Krishan Kumar join forces once again for this sequel. The announcement, made on social media, generated excitement among Ajay’s fans, revealing that Raid 2 is already in production and is scheduled for release in the final quarter of the year.
Raid 2 continues the saga, shedding light on the unsung heroes of the Income Tax Department by narrating another true case from their records. Although the first look poster refrains from unveiling Ajay Devgn’s appearance in the film, it announces his return as IRS Officer Amay Patnaik, ready to bring another gripping case to the big screen on November 15, 2024. The caption teases, “IRS officer Amay Patnaik AKA Ajay Devgn is all set to get a new tip this time! So, are you ready to know whose house will be raided by him this time?”
Commencing on January 6, the shoot kicked off in Mumbai and is set to span locations in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan. The prequel garnered acclaim for its compelling narrative, and now, with the sequel underway, Raid 2 promises heightened intensity with double the drama and suspense.
Produced by T-Series and Panorama Studios under the banners of Bhushan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak, and Krishan Kumar, Raid 2 is slated for a theatrical release on November 15, 2024. Additional casting details are yet to be disclosed.
