Bollywood actor and producer, Ajay Devgn, is collaborating with V. Venkata Ramana Reddy aka Dil Raju for the Hindi remake of the superhit courtroom crime drama, Naandhi. The two acquired the Hindi remake rights of the Telugu movie recently and Ajay made a recent announcement of his collaboration with Dil Raju.
Talking about the project, Ajay said that Naandhi is an important film that exposes the loopholes in the administration. “The original Telugu version was effective and touched a raw nerve. Dil Raju & I have decided to join hands in remaking this film in Hindi to reach out to a larger audience. These are early days. The script is being finalised. Once we have the cast & key talent in place, I may be able to say more,” he added.
Filmmaker Dil Raju, who will be co-producing the movie with Ajay Devgn, said that they are keen to take the story of Naandhi to a larger audience. He further expressed his gratitude in working with Ajay Devgn and said, “I am very happy to have collaborated with Ajay Devgn on an important story like this. We are in the preliminary stage of the film and will soon share more details.”
Released early this year, Naandhi shares the story of an IT professional who is wrongly accused in a high profile murder case and spends years enduring abuse in prison waiting for his trial. Helmed by Vijay Kanakemedata, the original movie features Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Allari Naresh, Navami Gayak and Devi Prasad in key roles. Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn and Dil Raju are currently looking out for a fresh cast and a director for the Hindi remake.
