Sunny Deol’s recent success with Gadar 2 has reaffirmed his status as a prominent Bollywood actor with a dedicated fan base. His powerful presence in the film industry has prompted producers to explore sequels to his iconic movies from the 90s and early 2000s. Following the news of a potential Border 2, an announcement poster for Maa Tujhhe Salaam 2 has been launched, signalling another exciting sequel on the horizon.

Trade analyst Atul Mohan exclusively tweeted the poster on his social media handle, revealing the film’s title, a tricolour motif, and a striking dialogue. Building on the famous line from the first part, Maa Tujhhe Salaam (2002), the poster amplifies the impact with, ‘Doodh maangoge toh kheer denge, Kashmir maangoge toh Lahore bhi chheen lenge.’ While the cast details are yet to be unveiled, it’s widely anticipated that Sunny Deol, the star of the original, will also be part of the sequel’s lineup.

Maa Tujhhe Salaam, featuring Sunny Deol, Arbaaz Khan, and Tabu, revolves around Major Pratap Singh’s (Sunny Deol) efforts to defend Kashmir against border enemies. Albaksh (Arbaaz Khan), an Indian resident, turns against anti-national activities orchestrated by Lala Sultan (Tinu Verma), aligned with Pakistan’s Gul Mastan (Sudesh Berry). As the story unfolds, Major Pratap Singh and Captain Sonia Khanna (Tabu) play crucial roles in the tumultuous narrative.

The original film was released on January 25, 2002, just before Republic Day and around six months following the success of Gadar – Ek Prem Katha (2001). It capitalized on patriotic fervour and positive word-of-mouth to garner a favourable reception. It remains to be seen if Maa Tujhhe Salaam 2 will ensure Sunny Deol’s consistent presence and repeat the history.

Additionally, the announcement poster only credits producer Mahendra Dhariwal without revealing the director’s name. The release date of Maa Tujhhe Salaam 2 in cinemas is anticipated soon, promising another round of excitement for Sunny Deol’s fans.
