It was announced a while ago that Robert Pattinson has been roped in to play the new Batman in Matt Reeves’ The Batman as they wanted a young actor to play the cape crusader in the standalone Batman movie. Now the latest reports suggest that there is an ongoing search for a replacement of Henry Cavill as well who plays the comic-book based character of Superman in the DC Universe.
While Robert Pattinson is 33 years old, the makers are keen on casting an actor in the early 30s to portray the Man Of Steel on the big screen as they don’t want Superman to be older than Gotham’s Knight. While the news has been claimed by Cosmic Book News, there is no official announcement made yet for the same.
It has also been rumoured that Jonah Hill has been approached to play the main antagonist in The Batman although the name of the character hasn’t been specified yet. As per rumours, Jonah is expected to appear in the DC Universe as either Penguin or the Riddler.
Meanwhile, Henry Cavill has played the live-action Superman in three DC movies namely Man of Steel, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League. On the other hand, Ben Affleck had been playing the Batman so far and will be replaced by a younger Robert Pattinson in the future movies.
