Taking the rising cases of COVID-19 in the state of Maharashtra, the government imposed restrictions on many activities in the state to curb the spread of the deadly virus. In the set of restrictions and guidelines, the government restrained from carrying out any filming in the state which affected the already struggling television shows to continue their run. In a desperate attempt to keep the show going, many shows decided to shift their base to different states where COVID-19 cases are slightly under control.

According to a source close to the development of Zee TV’s daily soaps, makers of the popular shows, Kumkum BhagyaKundali Bhagya, and Apna Time Bhi Aayega have decided to shoot for their upcoming episodes in Goa from next week. Following the lead, the team of Teri Meri Ikk Jindri has preparing to shift their base to Jaipur while the Kyun Rishton Mein Katti Batti team are heading to Surat for filming.

Speaking on the shift of the base of their show, Pooja Bannerjee who plays the character of Rhea in Kumkum Bhagya said that the imposed ban on the shooting is impacting the livelihood of actors as well as several daily wage workers in the entertainment industry. However, she supports the crucial decision made by the government to break the chain. “However, having said that I know we needed to break the chain and I totally support the government’s decision,” she added.

The team of Kumkum Bhagya will be creating a bio-bubble in Goa to ensure the safety of the crew members during the production in Goa and the entire crew will be periodically tested for the viral disease.
