After the lukewarm response to War 2, Yash Raj Films’ grand plans for its Spy Universe have hit a rough patch. However, producer Aditya Chopra is already rethinking his strategy to get the franchise back on track. His next major project, Alpha, led by Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, aims to reignite the universe’s momentum. The film also features Bobby Deol and Anil Kapoor in pivotal roles, with Hrithik Roshan set to make a special appearance as Agent Kabir.
According to industry insiders, Aditya Chopra has now approached Shah Rukh Khan to appear in Alpha as Pathaan, in what could be a crucial link to Pathaan 2. “Pathaan remains the most celebrated character in the YRF Spy Universe, and Aditya has designed a special cameo that connects directly to the next Pathaan film,” revealed a source. “Shah Rukh has asked for some time to consider the offer since he is currently occupied with the shoot of King.”
Chopra has reportedly requested Shah Rukh to shoot for three to four days in early November, as Alpha gears up for a Christmas 2025 release. “Even though SRK has reserved November for King, he is trying to adjust his schedule to accommodate Alpha. If not a full-fledged cameo, he might film a short end-credit scene,” the source added.
Meanwhile, Chopra is also exploring the possibility of including Salman Khan’s Tiger in the film, but the cameo is still in the scripting phase. “Adi will only approach Salman once he is confident that the sequence matches the impact of Tiger’s cameo in Pathaan,” said the insider.
Directed by Shiv Rawail, Alpha is positioned as a high-octane action entertainer that will expand the YRF Spy Universe in a fresh direction. With a powerhouse cast and the potential inclusion of both Shah Rukh and Hrithik, the film could mark a major turning point for the franchise when it hits theatres in December 2025.
