Actor Nikhil Malik, who shot fame after his recent stint in the reality show “Splitsvilla 13”, reveals that acting has been on his mind from childhood but he was tentative in telling his parents about it.

While the show is still on the air, Nikhil has wrapped up for the shoot. The actor opens up that during his childhood years, he had participated in various beauty pageants but there was one thing he was also sure of and that was that acting. He ultimately wanted to become an actor but was afraid that his parents wouldn’t support him. He was surprised when he realised that instead, they have been my backbone.

He says that acting is what he eats, breathes and sleep. Nikhil, who hails from Delhi, moved to Mumbai to pursue his acting and modelling career but struggled with major set back in the initial years. He enrolled in an acting school but realised that he didn’t learn anything there and had to quit the school. Since he was new in the city when this happened, so he says that he cried a lot because he felt that all of his money got wasted and had no idea where would he go.

Sharing his “Splitsvilla 13” experience, Nikhil finds it to be a really good one and says that the show brought back the fighting spirit in him. It also helped him rise to fame and the number of followers on social media also increased. Yet he believes that he has much more to achieve. Nikhil’s ambition in life is to do different characters on TV, the web and films. He is putting immense efforts and working towards his path dedicatedly.

Although people feel good looks are integral to becoming successful in showbiz, Nikhil thinks it’s more about staying healthy, good fitness and most importantly the actor’s craft and hard work. He believes that at the end of the day it’s the skills and not the looks that gets you the respect you want. The actor concludes by saying that his mother is his muse and he wants to play a role like that of Iron Man.
