Actor Abhishek Bachchan took a trip down the memory lane, during a podcast and revealed how he met his wife, Bollywood actress and former Miss World, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. He recalls the first time he met ‘one of the most beautiful women around’. He shared how their love story began.
Amitabh Bachchan, the father of the actor, was making a film called Mrityudata, and Abhishek had gone for the location recce to Switzerland because the production unit felt that since he had grown up in Switzerland in boarding school he would be able to take them to nice locations.
He had been there alone for a couple of days and actor Bobby Deol who has been his childhood friend was shooting for his first film, Aur Pyar Ho Gaya. When Deol discovered that Abhishek was in Switzerland, he invited him over for a warm dinner and that was the first time when he met his lady love while they were shooting there.
Later as we know, Abhishek and Aishwarya worked together in Dhai Akshar Prem Ke, which was his second outing. In the interview, he spoke about how they developed a good bond of friendship as they worked together several times before finally deciding to marry each other.
When teasingly questioned if he ever ‘crushed on’ her during this time, Abhishek answered by saying “Who doesn’t crush on her? I mean, come on, come on.” The husband-wife duo has featured in films such as Umrao Jaan, Dhoom 2, Guru, Raavan, Sarkar Raaj amongst others.
Presently, Abhishek is shooting in Lucknow and was away on their 14th wedding anniversary. The actor, however, made sure to connect virtually with wife Aishwarya and daughter Aaradhya and spend a happy time.
