Abhishek Bachchan made his significant comeback with his critically acclaimed performance in the romantic-drama, Manmarziyaan, which also starred Tapseee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal in the lead roles. While the movie failed to generate an expected business at the box office, it added to the good books of Junior Bachchan for his captivating performance as a gentle turbaned husband.
Despite the poor box office performance, the reports suggest that filmmaker Anurag Kashyap and Abhishek Bachchan are in talks for a sequel to their collaboration in 2018. The sequel is said to have the same cast reprising their characters while much details are kept under wraps or not developed yet. Abhishek and Anurag were also to come together for another love story titled Gulab Jamun with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as the love interest to Abhishek’s character but the project never sought the light.
Besides Manmarziyaan sequel, Abhishek Bachchan is waiting for the release of Anurag Basu’s Ludo and Kookie Gulati’s The Big Bull. Meanwhile, the actor is also in talks with filmmaker Mani Ratnam for their third collaboration after Guru and Raavan post the success of his recent digital debut, Breathe: Into The Shadows.
