Months ago, Indian actor Kartik Aaryan took the micro-blogging website, Twitter, by storm when he announced a collaboration with Mukesh Bhatt and Anurag Basu for the keenly anticipated Aashiqui 3. While the fans of Kartik Aaryan are still overwhelmed with the news of another franchise under his sleeves, the latest reports suggest that we might see the actor romancing a fresh Bollywood face.
According to sources close to the development of the project, the filmmaker Mukesh Bhatt is on a hunt to launch a new face opposite Kartik Aaryan in the lead role in the upcoming instalment in the Aashiqui franchise. Confirming the news about the debutante, Mukesh Bhatt told the entertainment portal, Pinkvilla, “We are still looking. I am going through a very extensive search. We want to introduce a new face for Aashiqui 3.”
The filmmaker further added that the team is currently working on the script and the movie will likely go on the floors by next year. “The timeless classic ‘Aashiqui’ is something I grew up watching and working on ‘Aashiqui 3’ is like a dream come true. I feel privileged yet grateful collaborating with Bhushan Kumar and Mukesh Bhatt for this opportunity. I’ve been a big fan of Anurag Basu’s work and collaborating with him on this one will definitely shape me in many ways,” Kartik told Variety on being a part of the franchise.
Earlier, it was also reported that Jennifer Winget will be sharing the screen space with Kartik Aaryan in the upcoming romantic drama. However, Anurag Basu quashed the reports and revealed that the casting was yet to be locked.
On the other hand, Kartik has an interesting lineup of movies including Hera Pheri 3, Rohit Dhawan’s Shehzada, Satyaprem Ki Katha with Kiara Advani, and Hansal Mehta’s Captain India.
