Bollywood icon Aamir Khan has officially completed filming for his upcoming project, Sitaare Zameen Par. The final patchwork shoot wrapped up late Sunday night at Mumbai’s Film City. Directed by RS Prasanna, the film now enters a demanding post-production phase, which will involve editing, visual effects, and sound design. Fans will have to wait a bit longer, as the movie’s release has been pushed to summer 2025.
According to a report by Mid-Day, the last leg of the shoot started at 2 PM and continued until late in the night. “Aamir was determined to finish the shoot on Sunday. With this, Sitaare Zameen Par has crossed the filming milestone,” revealed a source. The focus will now shift to perfecting the movie in post-production.
Touted as a spiritual successor to Aamir’s critically acclaimed Taare Zameen Par (2007), the film is an official adaptation of the Spanish sports comedy Campeones (2018). Alongside Aamir Khan, the movie also stars Genelia Deshmukh in a key role.
Khan, known for his detail-oriented approach to filmmaking, is set to follow his tried-and-tested method of focus-group screenings. This strategy has previously helped him fine-tune films like Dangal (2016) and Secret Superstar (2017). “These screenings play a pivotal role in shaping the final product. The team plans to begin focus-group sessions by February 2025, leaving enough time for any necessary changes,” a source shared.
Initially slated for a December 2024 release, Aamir postponed the film’s launch to ensure the highest quality standards were met. Fans can now expect Sitaare Zameen Par to hit theatres during the summer of 2025.
