Aamir Khan is currently busy filming his highly-anticipated movie, Laal Singh Chaddha, which is a remake of the successful Hollywood drama, Forrest Gump, which featured Tom Hanks. Meanwhile, the actor has also been signed for the biopic of the founder of T-Series music label, Gulshan Kumar. Titled Mogul, the movie will feature Aamir Khan as the legendary singer and producer.

The biopic was announced in 2017 but it couldn’t go on the floors due to the changes in the primary cast and then the Coronavirus pandemic. However, T-Series head and son of late Gulshan Kumar, Bhushan Kumar, now has a timeline for the much-awaited drama as he told the tabloid Bollywood Hungama. Bhushan Kumar said that Aamir is currently busy with his next, Laal Singh Chaddha, and will start working on Mogul after the release of the Hindi remake.

“Tentatively we will start the film in 2022. I cannot give you an exact date right now, but in 2022 the film should go on floors. It should be a 2023 release or end of 2022,” said Bhushan, who is also involved in the writing process of his father’s biopic. “Yes, I enjoy the process but because of the time constraints, I am not being able to be involved in all the things. But obviously in big and important films I totally get involved in script sessions also,” he added.

Helmed by Subhash Kapoor, Mogul features Aamir Khan as Gulshan Kumar alongside Mouni Roy and Gulshan Grover portraying the characters of Sudesh Kumar Dua and Dawood Ibrahim, respectively. The movie is expected to hit the theatres by the end of 2022 or in early 2023.
