Aamir Khan has been entertaining and contributing to the entertainment industry for decades and now his son is gearing up to walk in his shoes. The 27-year-old actor, Junaid Khan, will be making his long-awaited Bollywood debut under the Yash Raj Films banner and the reports suggest that the movie now has a title.
The eldest son of Aamir Khan, Junaid Khan, has worked as an assistant director in the past for Aamir Khan starrer PK which was helmed by ace filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani. Junaid also shares an interest in street plays and his Bollywood debut was foreseen. If reports are to be believed, his debut with Hichki director Siddharth P Malhotra has been tentatively titled Maharaja, which is loosely based on the 1862 Maharaj Libel Case.
Maharaja will be a period drama and is expected to be announced as a part of the 50th-anniversary celebration of Yash Raj Films. The movie will also star Sharvari Wagh, who will be making her debut in the upcoming YRF’s Bunty Aur Babli 2. Meanwhile, reports are suggesting that Jaideep Ahlawat will be playing a key role in the movie as the godman Jadunathji Brijratanji Maharaj, who was accused of sexual liaisons with his female devotees.
While no detail about the project has been officially unveiled, it is being speculated that Junaid Khan will be essaying the character of Mulji, a journalist and reformer who questioned the values of a Hindu sect involving religious leader Jadunathji Brijratanji Maharaj.
