As per the rumor mills, director and screen writer Shakun Batra whose last directorial venture ‘Kapoor & Sons’ became a huge commercial success, is working on Late Acharya Rajneesh a.k.a Osho’s biopic under the banner of Dharma Productions with Aamir Khan playing the titular role.

Osho was a controversial Indian Godman who spoke and wrote criticisms on religious orthodoxy. One of the very rare Godmen of his time in 1960s who spoke about sex and human sexuality, which made him controversy’s favorite child and was labelled as the “Sex Guru”.

Acharya Rajneesh a.k.a Osho

Considering how there is a massive increase of Godmen and their followers in India and this is the season of Biopics in Bollywood, Acharya Ji’s life will make for one hell of a concept to be made a  biopic on.

Aamir Khan is known for being very picky and particular about the projects he does and gets into the depths of the characters he plays. If the rumors are actually true it would be interesting to see him play such an interesting and controversial real person.  In fact, Alia Bhatt’s name is also being considered for the project.

For now, the actor is gearing up for his upcoming  ‘Thugs Of Hindostan’  under Yash Raj Films banner with Amitabh Bachchan, Fatima Sana Sheikh and Katrina Kaif,  set to release on 7th November 2018.
