Akshay Kumar, who recently recovered from COVID-19, is reportedly back in work mode and will soon start filming his upcoming movie, Ram Setu, alongside Jacqueline Fernandez and Nushrratt Bharuccha. However, according to the gossip mill, a cheque issued to Akshay Kumar by Lyca Productions for Ram Setu bounced.
According to a report close to the cast and crew of Ram Setu, Akshay Kumar, who is also co-producing the movie, is having a disagreement with the other production banner, Lyca Productions. As per the source, Lyca Productions had issued a cheque to Akshay Kumar with a monetary value of INR 30 crores for the development of the movie, however, the cheque bounced a week ago. The setback in funding by Lyca Productions has affected the production of the movie which is already facing the wrath of the pandemic.
The makers of the mythological drama are now reportedly on the lookout for a new production partner for the funding of the project and replace Lyca Productions as the head production banner. However, Akshay Kumar as well as the representative of Lyca Productions have denied such reports and maintain that there are no monetary issues in their association.
Talking about the movie, Ram Setu is being helmed by Abhishek Sharma and features Akshay Kumar as an archaeologist who is set out to explore the reality of the Ram Setu bridge which has a mention in the Indian mythological epic, Ramayana. The movie also stars Jacqueline Fernandez and Nushrratt Bharuccha in key roles.
